What is culture and how does it shape experience?
What can literature, cinema, and comics teach us about home, identity, and sexuality?
Explore these questions through the literature and film of the Jewish experience.
In this course, explore the Jewish experience through the study of literature and film from around the world. We will cover issues pertaining to secularism and tradition; diasporas and homelands; modernity; questions of identity raised by the intellectual transitions brought about by political and social emancipation; sexualities; and enormous changes wrought by population shifts, world wars, rapid cultural transformations.
