Yom Hashoah Commemoration with Lecture by Prof. Dan Chirot

The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center will present a Holocaust Remembrance Day program at the University of Washington on Sunday, April 27th. “The Family: Ties, Separations, Rebuilding, and Remembering” includes three speakers:
Holocaust survivor Josh Gortler;
David Laskin, author of The Family: Three Journeys into the Heart of the Twentieth Century; and
Prof. Daniel Chirot, author of Confronting Memories of World War II: European and Asian Legacies.
Prof. Dan Chirot is the Herbert J. Ellison Professor of Russian and Eurasian Studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of Washington. His lecture is entitled “Who Apologizes, Who Means It, and Why.”
