Explore the rich and varied culture and literature of Russian and Polish Jewry from the 17th century to the Holocaust. Readings will include folktales and works by Sholem Aleichem, Yitzhok Leybush Peretz, Sholem An-sky, Isaac Babel, and Avrom Sutzkever.

No previous knowledge of Judaism or Jewish history is required.
