About Paul Burstein

Paul Burstein is Professor of Sociology, Samuel and Althea Stroum Chair in Jewish Studies, and Adjunct Professor of Political Science, Emeritus at the University of Washington. He has served as Chair of the Jewish Studies Program at the UW, and has been on the Council of the American Sociological Association, and the Board of the Association for the Social Scientific Study of Jewry. His most recent book is American Public Opinion, Advocacy, and Policy in Congress: What the Public Wants and What It Gets (Cambridge University Press), and he is doing research on congressional hearings on the Middle East since the 1940s.
