Devin Naar, the Isaac Alhadeff Professor in Sephardic Studies at the University of Washington, will be giving a number of talks on the East Coast regarding his acclaimed new book, Jewish Salonica: Between the Ottoman Empire and Modern Greece, which won a 2016 National Jewish Book Award for best archival research and was a finalist in the category of Sephardic culture. It also won the 2017 Edmund Keeley Prize for best book awarded by the Modern Greek Studies Association.
